Dear friends, travellers and readers, My Next Memory welcomes you to 2019 and we are happy to see you again! Last month we visited China and we had the opportunity to explore the hilarious Paris City….Macau style! Come with us and discover how the new Parisian Casino and Resort actually comes out to be a superb imitation of the original! Can you spot which one is which?
An Eiffel Tower almost like the original one!
That left us speechless! Not only is the Parisian Casino’s Eiffel Tower almost as high as the real one; it also looks extremely accurate in the details and well executed! While the tower is about half of the real Eiffel, it looks really real and impressive because it is built with the same materials and perfectly to scale!
We felt the Casino actually puts a lot of efforts in explaining the crowds where the inspiration comes from. The place is full of very informative and interesting historical notes on Paris city!
Some parts of the Resort actually resemble completely the original location. For example, the shopping alleys really reminded us of the secret passages and shopping streets of Paris, like the Galerie Vivienne or the Passage des Panoramas!
There is a mini Place Vendome too.
Somehow only the lobby mixes too many things to be actually recognizable: it has a Dome like in the Galeries Lafayette department store but with the Concorde square fountain together…strange, strange!
The Parisian went a long stretch to incorporate many small details that make the place look so real. While this might not be noticeable for first-time Paris visitors, connoisseurs will for sure appreciate the attention.
You will notice for instance the millennia-old Parisian saying on the front doors: “Fluctuat Nec Mergitur”. In Latin it means that the City floats but never drowns…a beautiful allegory which refers not only to Paris’ ability to cope with the Seine River floods but also more metaphoric of the City and the Parisian’s ability to be enduring!
The Parisian also uses the exact same lighting poles as in Paris on the Alexander III Bridge!
We have spotted the exact same chairs and tables as in traditional Paris brasserie restaurants….Too bad the Parisian “terrasses” are actually indoor.
Well, though the style of performance is very different, it is true that it’s a habit to take in Paris to be regularly surprised by street performers….in the subway, around famous landmarks or in public gardens, do expect a lot of musicians and dancers to surprise you in Paris! And so at the Parisian…! We saw many dancing and singing shows! Even the posters are displayed in the same Kiosks as in the City of Lights!
Going to the Parisian is a good introduction to the City of Lights! But all in all, it is missing the metro, the incredible museums and we still feel that visiting the real place comes with the authentic Paris atmosphere!
So let us know your comments! Send us your pictures of the Parisian or Paris City in 2019 and let’s have fun together!
