With My Next Memory, we often talk about where to go or we share our best tips about visiting France. But funnily, we’ve never told you yet what French people’s favourite destinations are within their own country!
Come check out the official top 5, you will see that results can be quite surprising….
1. Paris
Of course, Paris is the most visited city in France, starting with French people themselves, coming from various regions to discover their capital city! Paris is an ever-popular trip for families and school trips checking out the numerous museums and monuments.
Or having fun at some of Europe’s best amusement parks such as Disneyland, but also the very, very French Parc Asterix 🙂

2. Corsica
Seeing Corsica number two is definitely a surprise as the Island is considered a rather expensive vacation destination, but definitely one of the most secluded and above all, one of the most beautiful in the entire country!

Bonifacio
Corsica is not only number two, but it’s also the French region where locals stay the longest, with an average of 9 days per trip…
Stay tuned for our special Corsica destination review later this summer!
3. Brittany
Brittany is also a surprise! While the French always make fun of the bad weather in France’s most rainy region, they definitely like the place for their vacation.

Cancale
Going to Brittany is for sure not a weekend getaway as it already takes almost a day just to reach. But once there, visitors will enjoy the wild coastline, the fresh seafood and the vivid breeze!
4. Southwest
The Southwest is actually a pretty large region to put in a ranking….it includes the vast and popular sand beaches along the Atlantic Ocean as in the Basque County, or Charente.
Or the value-for-money inland destinations which are popular for great family and foodie vacations, such as the Perigord and the beautiful Dordogne.

Dordogne Valley
5. Provence
And yes, the picture-perfect Provence comes last…and Riviera did not even make it to the top 5! Provence is often perceived as more expensive than other regions. It’s also seen as a place crowded with foreign tourists, so French people tend to avoid it for their own vacations.

Senanque Abbey
Unless going deep in the countryside with a private villa rental! Or completely offseason 🙂
Enjoy your summer and see you soon!
